DIY Natural Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin

Anyone who knows me well knows that I like a good bargain. I will pay for quality when necessary, but I’m a raving fan of the BOGOs at Publix and of stores like TJ Maxx, where you can find equally as high quality goods for a fraction of the price.

This has panned out well for me when shopping for jeans and luggage but not so much for high quality facial products suitable for my ridiculously sensitive dry skin. I was disheartened that I would certainly be enslaved to the expensive beauty product industry…an industry that almost as a rule fills their products with chemicals that even a PhD can barely pronounce, NOT stuff that you would want to put on your skin.

I love the rule of thumb “Don’t put anything ON your body that you would not want IN your body.” You know why?

Our skin is our largest organ!

Yep, that’s right. It absorbs all kinds of gunk that we come in topical contact with, absorbing it into the body.

SO, I set out to find a better solution! After reading tons of articles, querying Facebook, and spending way too many hours on Pinterest, I found what I think is the best solution. I ranked it TOP in effective moisturizing, BOTTOM in price, and AWESOME in “added effects.”

To save you the time and trouble, I want to share it with everyone who will listen.

It is so simple that you – like me – may doubt that it works. I challenge you to try it, and your doubts will be removed. What is it??

Coconut oil blended with Frankincense oil.

SERIOUSLY. It is only TWO ingredients and IT WORKS.

This is PERFECT for my very dry eczema-prone skin.

Have acne-prone skin? You may want to try shea butter with lavender oil instead.

Frankincense and lavender oils, I learned, are excellent for your skin. They are both astringents and have additional benefits.

Frankincense is full of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, known for their healing qualities. The complex aroma of this oil can elevate many aspects of your life. Frankincense essential oil has an earthy, uplifting aroma that’s perfect for grounding and spiritual connectedness. Create a safe and comforting environment when you diffuse or inhale this empowering oil—a perfect opportunity to collect your thoughts. When you seek purpose or engage in prayer or meditation, use this oil to enhance your experience.

In addition to elevated spiritual experiences, the benefits of Frankincense essential oil include maintaining radiant skin. Its ability to smooth the look of healthy skin makes this oil a key part of Young Living’s Boswellia Wrinkle Cream™.

Frankincense is also an important ingredient in their blend Awaken™, Brain Power™, Forgiveness™, and Highest Potential™.

As an alternate, consider lavender oil! Just Google it and you’ll find a gajillion uses.

OK, so THERE IT IS! Who knew a two-ingredient beauty product would rock my world. Hopefully you’ll love it, too. Comment below – I love to hear from the Go for Greener tribe!
